Know you need to revamp (or write) a collections policy, but have no idea where to start? Do you need it broken down? Melanie Deer will break down aspects of a collections policy based on John Simmon’s “Things Great and Small.” By the end of the presentation you will be able to identify what sections you need to include and have confidence in starting.

About the Presenter:  Melanie Deer is the Collections Manager and Assistant NAGPRA Coordinator at the Center for Archaeology and Society Repository at Arizona State University. She got her BA in Anthropology (concentration of archaeology) from the University of Arizona and her MA in Museum Studies (concentration of collections and curation) from Johns Hopkins. She has been working in the collections field in some capacity or another for over 15 years.
