Description
Like the fascinating stories it tells, Heritage Station, the Umatilla County Historical Museum, is a distinctive mix of old and new. A modern entry building and administrative wing echo the architecture of the renovated 1909 OR&N train depot that houses the Museum’s exhibits.
There is plenty to see and do at Heritage Station. Because there are so many stories to tell, the exhibits change frequently and showcase the region’s unique mix of tradition and ingenuity. On the beautifully landscaped grounds you can attend class in the one-room Byrd School, stroll through an 1880s homestead, and imagine riding the rails in the caboose. The Museum frequently hosts touring exhibits and programs.
A year-round calendar of special events offers a wide selection programs and activities. In the Museum Store you’ll find an array of books and merchandise to extend your Museum experience.
