    Coos History Museum

    The Coos History Museum (CHM) is seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial leader who can accept responsibility for and further the growth of the museum's financial health, new program development, and management of the museum. We offer an opportunity to manage, promote, and grow a new facility with the help of an engaged board, experienced staff, and a large contingent of enthusiastic volunteers.     The Executive Director is the chief administrative and financial officer reporting to the Board of Directors through its President, and is responsible for the implementation of board policy. The Director will be the local “face” of the Coos History Museum.     Wells Fargo History Museum

    Portland, OR

    Museum Assistant I

    15 hours/week (flexible)

    The Wells Fargo History Museum is seeking a Museum Assistant with 6+ months of museum, historical services, marketing or customer service experience to work in its Historical Services Department.  The museum is located at 1300 SW 5th Avenue in Portland, OR and does not offer relocation assistance.

    The Museum Assistant will assist with the day-to-day operation of this location to ensure quality, efficiency, and the highest professional standards and museum practices.  Additional Responsibilities Include:

    • Prepare and deliver education programs and tours to help visitors gain a better understanding and appreciation of Wells Fargo’s rich history
    • Greet visitors, provide information, and answer questions pertaining to Wells Fargo History including Gold Rush, stagecoach, and regional history
    • Provide day-to-day operational support, including answering the phone, performing retail duties for small museum gift shop, clerical duties, and light housekeeping
    • Assist with special museum events as needed

    The Wells Fargo History Museum is free and open to the public 5 days a week from 9:00am to 5:00pm.  This position is flexible and therefore ineligible for most Wells Fargo benefits. The position will work an average of 15 hours per week.

    Come and explore the roles both Wells Fargo and Oregon played in each other’s history, from the Cal-Oregon Stageline, to riverboats of gold on the Columbia River, to banking and express for Oregon’s communities.

    Exhibits Assistant I

    on-call, 19-or-less hours/week


    The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry is seeking multiple Exhibit Assistant I’s that will provide maintenance, repair and technical support for OMSI’s exhibits including traveling exhibits. 


    The ideal candidate must have, but not limited to:


    • Ability to follow basic instructions.
    • Professional communication skills, both written and oral.
    • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Good attention to detail.
    • Working knowledge of maintenance and repair. 
    • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects.
    • Understanding of confidentiality and protocol.
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in a warehouse or production facility.
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Must pass all pre-employment checks, such as a criminal background check and reference checks.
    • May require passing the pre-duty internal safety training if required to operate forklifts, scissors lifts, and other exhibit moving and warehouse equipment requiring safety training.


    Experience in proper handling of art and artifacts to include packing/unpacking, documentation, and installation, bilingual – Spanish/English, and previous experience working with volunteers is preferred.



    Pay Rate: $12.38 - $15.17 per hour.
