The Oregon Historical Society is currently accepting applications for an Oregon History Day Contest Assistant. The Oregon History Day Contest Assistant supports the Education Manager with the preparation, organization, and implementation of, and reporting for the Oregon History Day Contest Program. 


This position is non-exempt and seasonal, with a schedule of 40 hours per week for 16 weeks. Salary is $16/hour. The position does not qualify for benefits. The position does not provide relocation assistance. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. Prepare Oregon History Day Contest materials, including but not limited to assembling and organizing participant packets, teacher binders, judge binders, and volunteer instructions.
  2. Maintains and updates tracking spreadsheets of participants and resources, including but not limited to student, teacher, parent, coach and judge registrations, content logistics, etc. and format them as needed.
  3. Participates in and attends Oregon History Day Contest and assists with set-up, delivery, and breakdown of the state contest hosted in Portland, OR including but not limited to assisting with food set-up and clean-up, registration, judges room preparations, posting signage, awards ceremony coordination, etc.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
