The Oregon History Day Contest Assistant supports the Education Manager with the preparation, organization, and implementation of, and reporting for the Oregon History Day Contest Program. This program will include support for two virtual contests, and some or most work will be conducted remotely. 

This is a temporary position that will be working 30 hours per week and the assignment is expected to end June 30, 2021. The position does not qualify for benefits or provide relocation assistance.

  • $16.00 - $18.00 Hourly
  • Part Time


  1. Learns and utilizes custom contest management and registration system to set program parameters in line with provided guidelines, track contest participants' registration, check project uploads, check volunteers' use and submittal of evaluation forms, access provided reports, communicate contest information, and follow instructions to facilitate transfer of data to national contest.
  2. Maintains and updates tracking spreadsheets of participants and resources, including but not limited to student, teacher, guardian, coach and judge registrations, content logistics, etc. and formats them as needed.
  3. Assist with implementation and facilitation of two virtual state contests, including answering participants' questions, assisting judges, communicating with OHS team and national team, physically mailing certificates and medals, etc.
