The Portland Police Museum was established in 1976.  It is a part of the non-profit Portland Police Historical Society which includes the Highland Guard and the Portland Police Memorial.

Law Enforcement has been an integral part of Portland since it was founded in 1851.  In fact, the first city building was a jail!  The museum features a series of chronologically arranged exhibits showcasing photographs, equipment, artifacts and uniforms used by the Portland Police over the past 150 plus years.

There is a jail cell to visit, a motorcycle with sidecar to sit on and uniforms to try on for a unique experience and of course, photo opportunities.  The museum includes a store.
