The Oregon Jewish Museum, the Pacific Northwest's only Jewish museum, was founded to preserve the rich cultural heritage of one of Oregon’s earliest immigrant groups. We host four exhibits each year, maintain a library and archive, publish Art and Artifact, our quarterly newsletter, and offer a variety of education programs to youth and adults, as well as special lectures and collaborative programs with other institutions. The museum artifact collection includes small, but significant holdings by regional Jewish artists, ritual Judaica, and family and business collections.  The museum archive is comprised of photographs, records and ephemeral material dating from 1850 to the present.  It is the largest collection of the documented and visual history of the Jewish people of Oregon in existence and is widely used by researchers, scholars and students.

Oregon Jewish Museum endeavors to build a dynamic institution that embraces Jewish identity, community and continuity in the context of American democratic openness. We illustrate, by example, the ways in which a traditional community preserves, teaches, and lives by its values as a distinct minority.  We are open to all and appeal to a diverse audience.
