www.philipfosterfarm.com/ Admission: $5 per person, $20.00 per family, free to JZH Historical Society Members. Hours: Grounds open year-round; open Saturdays, May and September; open daily (11 AM - 4 PM) from Father's Day to Labor day. Groups of 10 or more, please call for reservations and cost.
Established in 1847 on the Barlow Road, the “last leg” of the Oregon Trail, the Philip Foster Farm was an important stopover for the pioneers at the end of their treacherous journey to the Willamette Valley. The living history museum features an 1883 house, an 1860s barn, Foster’s replica store, a working blacksmith shop, and heritage gardens. The Farm is the last remaining original Clackamas County Barlow Road site open to the public.
In summer, period-dressed guides offer tours and hands-on activities for children. School tours depicting pioneer life are available April through October by reservation. Events include a Mother’s Day Brunch, a Father’s Day Barbecue, Mary Charlotte’s Garden Party, a Pioneer Dinner and Barn Dance, a Cider Squeeze Harvest Festival, and A Country Christmas.
New: Become a pioneer during our Living History Summer Camp, ages 7 - 11. Both week-long and daily camps (details on our website).
For more information, please visit the Philip Foster Farm website or see us on Facebook and Twitter. Operated by the Jacknife-Zion-Horseheaven Historical Society.
