    Eugene Science Center is seeking reliable, upbeat, and positive individuals to work in its summer camp program for children entering grades 1 – 5. Multiple educator positions are available as well as a floater position. Camp staff will be responsible for groups of campers each week, creating a fun, safe, and inclusive camp experience for each child.

    Summer Camp Instructors will facilitate indoor and outdoor age-appropriate activities and lead STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) programming.

    The Summer Camp Floater will supervise children during snack and lunchbreaks, plan and lead fun recreational activities, maintain snack supplies, and assist with materials preparation, supply shopping, and classroom management as needed.

    JOB DESCRIPTION: Development Manager 

    JOB CLASSIFICATION: Full Time Non-Exempt, 35-40 hr/wk

    SALARY RANGE: $20 to $21 per hour, depending on experience

    BASIC FUNCTION  

    The Development Manager works closely with the Executive Director to increase the museum’s contributed income through designing, executing, and managing fundraising strategies. This includes individual giving, corporate sponsorships, events, and grants. This position also oversees maximizing earned income through rentals. 


    POSITION RELATIONSHIPS 

    The Development Manager reports to the Executive Director. They may work with museum assistants and other staff to ensure successful development functions and provide proactive support to the Director. The Development Manager serves as the initial point of contact for financial donors and institutions. 


    PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Institutional Responsibilities 

    • Supporting the Museum’s commitment to the visitor experience, community engagement, and institutional relevancy for the future.

    • Contributing to and supporting institutional initiatives.

    • Contributing to a positive organizational culture based on mutual respect, a spirit of collegiality, cooperation, and openness to many perspectives.

    • Participating in a culture of ongoing learning, collaboration, innovation, creativity, and community engagement.


    Development and Fundraising Responsibilities

    • Creating, in collaboration with the Executive Director, a fundraising plan to align with the museum’s mission, vision, and core values. The plan will include individual giving, events, corporate sponsorships, and grants. 

    • Researching and creating targeted proposals for potential individual donors and institutions that fit the fundraising plan.

    • Researching potential private and public grants that fit the fundraising plan. Working with contracted grant writer to submit, track, and manage all grants. 

    • Cultivating and maintaining relationships with major donors and institutions.

    • Managing fundraising and donor cultivation events.

    • Growing membership through targeted campaigns.

    • Maintaining membership and donor database. Updating information as it is received. Preparing monthly reports for the Executive Director to review.

    • Developing marketing materials related to fundraising.

    • Coordinating and processing all museum fundraising mailings and newsletters.

    • Preparing fundraising letters, documents, reports, etc. as directed.

    EARNED REVENUE RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Oversee rentals and develop earned revenue goals and strategies.

    • Oversee marketing for rental programs.


    GENERAL DUTIES

    • Staying abreast of all Museum happenings both ongoing and upcoming.

    • Staying abreast of local and state happenings.

    • Performing duties required during major museum events and festivals.

    • Attending special events at the Rice Museum as requested by the Executive Director.

    • Helping in the gift store when other colleagues are sick or on vacation.

    • Performing other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    General small office environment. The collection is displayed in a 1950s ranch house with two levels with stair and elevator access, and in a second gallery in a former woodshop. Both interior locations are fully climate controlled. Our grounds consist of 23 acres of wooded property and we regularly hold outdoor events. The Museum is education oriented and has several weekly school tours with groups of students from preschool through college. Must be able to work in an occasional noisy setting. Will occasionally work outside and will access both climate controlled and non-climate controlled storage areas.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    The person selected for this role will frequently be required to navigate uneven surfaces and narrow spaces, ascend/descend step ladders and stairs, and remain in a stationary position for up to 8 hours.


    POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

    Hours for this position will be set in a Wednesday-Sunday schedule. Some flexibility allowed in setting hours, but will typically take place when the museum offices are open.


    TRAVEL

    Minimal travel may be required locally (less than 30 miles). Expenses for travel will be reimbursed. 


    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in education and experience. 

    • Two years of progressive experience in philanthropic or non-profit organization, museum experience preferred.

    • Highly proficient with computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Office including extensive experience with PowerPoint and Excel.


    WORK AUTHORITY AND SECURITY CLEARANCE

    Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks and Minerals does not sponsor work visas. Due to working around valuable objects and the public, employee must be able to pass a background check.

    Museum Curator

    The mission of the Clackamas County Historical Society is to enrich the lives of current and future generations through collecting, preserving, and interpreting the history and culture of Clackamas County.

    The Museum Curator collaborates with community stakeholders, an exhibit team, the Museum Educator, and contractors to implement a history project that includes a museum exhibit, education programs/materials, oral history interviews, and a website.     About us: Since opening in 1982, the High Desert Museum has brought together wildlife, cultures, history, art and natural resources to promote an understanding of North America’s High Desert country. We do so through indoor and outdoor exhibits, wildlife in natural habitats, living history demonstrations and dynamic programs on a beautiful, 135-acre campus in the pine forest.     About this job and what you’ll do: The associate curator of living history is responsible for the maintenance and interpretation of the 1904 High Desert Ranch and Sawmill and its associated programs. The main duties will include supervising interpreters as well as interpreting the site for visitors, demonstrating historical activities and managing the daily operations in period clothing.

    The Museum provides strong health and welfare benefits, plus 10.5 paid holidays, your birthday off, and three personal days per calendar year (this will be prorated based on hire date). You will also accrue two weeks of paid vacation per year for the first year of employment.

    Responsibilities and Duties
    Leadership

    • Translate the organization’s JET-centered mission and strategic plan goals into specific objectives, program plans and metrics that nurture commitment to The Arts Center’s vision, values, purpose and direction in partnership with the Board, staff and key stake- and shareholders.
    • Lead an experienced and cohesive, paid and volunteer staff responsible for the delivery of distinctive and integrated mission-driven arts programs.
    • Work with the board through onboarding processes, program/operational evaluation, and communicating impacts to aid them as ambassadors of the organization.

    Resource Development

    • Donor/member stewardship - Foster members’ sense of purpose, share support impacts with donors, and steward large gifts to grow endowment funding. Work with board and staff to identify donors seeking to make an impact with their funds, support their philanthropic goals vis-a-vis the arts, and communicate with them as part of regular donor stewardship activities.
    • Resource Development - Working with staff evaluate the impacts of TAC's work for the highest return-on-investment, obtain funding and build resources that support sustainable program and operational growth through grant implementation and other sources. While the ED takes the lead on fundraising, he/she/they receive support of the board and staff in this endeavor.
    • Legacy Giving - Work to support our mission and grow long-term, sustaining support of the organization in partnership with staff at the Benton Community Foundation which manages endowments and donor advised funds of The Arts Center.

    Organizational Development and Oversight

    • Program collaborations, partnerships, sponsorships - Assess and engage with potential collaborators and sponsors in alignment with our mission and create mutually beneficial relationships that develop into long-term partnerships.
    • Management – Maintain, manage, evaluate and develop The Arts Center operations and staff.
    • Budget and Fiscal Responsibilities – Develop sustainable budgets and budget forecasts for program and operational growth, and employ best practice fiscal management with Board approval and oversight.
    • Marketing - Increase access, communication, and engagement with our diverse communities through key networks of members, media, and the public.

    Required Skills and Experience:

    Education/Experience Requirements

    • Minimum five years executive management experience.

    Desired Qualities, Skills, Experience

    • MA, BA or Certification in arts administration, non-profit, or equivalent experience
    • Experience supporting multi-year major gift fundraising campaigns during a period of organizational growth.

    Compensation

    • Salary Range $60k-$75k commensurate with experience
