Inbound Sales Coordinator

2 positions available- Regular, Full-Time

 

The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry is seeking an Inbound Sales Coordinator to join our team! The Inbound Sales Coordinator is the first point of contact for all offsite guest inquiries. They effectively sell and promote OMSI’s tickets, educational programs, and memberships to maximize both the customer experience and revenue generation for the museum.  The representative also processes all program registrations, billing, payments, and is responsible for the maintenance and management of client records, calendars, online catalog, sales system, and external communications. 

 

The ideal candidate must have, but not limited to:

 

·          Strong customer service skills.

·          Professional communication skills, both written and oral, including ability to present professional, positive image over the phone and in person.

·          Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills.

·          Good attention to detail.

·          Understanding of confidentiality and protocol.

·          Demonstrated proficiency in timely and accurate data entry.

·          Strong initiative and highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.

·          Strong ability to manage one’s time independently and as a member of a team, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

·          Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.

·          Working knowledge of marketing and sales techniques with a strong ability to sell products.

·          Minimum 1 year of coordination skills.

·          Minimum 3 years’ experience in sales, customer service or a related field.

·          Must pass all pre-employment checks, such as criminal background check and reference checks. 

 

Previous experience with point of sale software, database systems, and bilingual – Spanish/English is preferred.

 

Pay Rate: $15.22 - $19.01 per hour.

                     

Exhibit Assistant II

Special Project through November 30, 2015, 40 hours per week

 

The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry is seeking an Exhibit Assistant II that will provide assistance in maintaining, repairing and supportingOMSI’s Water Avenue exhibits under the direction of an Exhibit Operation Strategist.

 

The ideal candidate must have, but not limited to:

 

·       Strong customer service skills.

·       Self-initiative to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

·       Professional communication skills, both written and oral.

·       Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.

·       Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

·       Ability to work independently as well as in teams.

·       Ability to work under pressure with flexibility.

·       The ability to promote teamwork and collaboration.

·       Understanding of confidentiality and protocol.

·       Knowledge of exhibit fabrication, maintenance and repair techniques and materials including those for video and sound systems.

·       Knowledge of mechanical drives, electrical components, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronics as they relate to exhibit construction and repair.

·       Computer experience including but not limited to hardware and software troubleshooting,

·       Ability to operate common “hand type” machine tools to form and finish metal, plastics, wood and other diverse materials.

·       Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings and sketch or produce drawings.

·       Ability to operate scissor lifts and other exhibit moving equipment.

·       Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education

·       Minimum 1 year of coordination and project management skills, minimum 1 year of experience working with the public, minimum 2 years’ experience in fabrication or maintenance of mechanical and electronic interactive exhibits and minimum 2 years’ related technical and customer service management experience.

·       Valid driver’s license

·       Passing criminal background and reference checks, requirements in the MVR Policy including passing the Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and Alcohol & Drug Test for non-CDL Drivers Policy, including pre-duty drug test

 

Previous experience in fabrication and/or maintenance of mechanical and electronic interactive exhibits, installing simple lighting, video and sound systems, bilingual Spanish/English, and experience working with volunteers is preferred.

 

Pay Rate: $12.38 - $15.17 per hour.

On-Call, 19 hours or less per week
