Waldport Heritage Museum

Admission: Free, donations accepted

The museum building was constructed in 1941 by the Civilian Conservation Corps, 4 miles south of Waldport. With the advent of World War II, there was no need for a CCC camp. In October 1942, conscientious objectors began arriving, one of 150 camps across the United States. At the end of the war, the buildings were used by the U.S. Forest Service. Angell Job Corps Center was established at the site in 1965. Building "1381" was donated to the city of Waldport in 1987 and moved to the present site and leased to the Alsi Historical & Genealogical Society.  After much remodeling, the Waldport Heritage Museum was open January 4, 1997.
