The Gresham Historical Society was founded in 1976 by a group of volunteers dedicated to preserving the history of Gresham and its surrounding area. The society is non-profit, funded by donations, and staffed entirely by volunteers. The Gresham Historical Society manages three facilities.

The Gresham History Museum at 410 North Main in historic Downtown Gresham. This is the society's headquarters and research area.

The Gresham Pioneer Church was located in Main City Park until it was completely destroyed by fire on May 22nd, 2004. The Pauletta Ewalt Memorial Brick Wall is still standing at the site.

Linnemann Station was the victim of arson in 1995 but a replica now serves as a community meeting place and waypoint on the Springwater Trail.
